Chapter 101
Chapter 101.
Nelly’s POV.
The early morning sun streamed through the window, piercing my eyes like tiny daggers. I groaned, burying my head under the covers. But the light was relentless, and I could feel it burning through the thin fabric. With a huff of frustration, I threw off the covers and sat up, blinking against the brightness. My eyes searched the room for Kex, but the space beside me was empty. I frowned, wondering where he had gone.
I turned my gaze to the mirror on the ceiling, and my eyes met my own reflection. A small smile tugged at the corners of my lips as I recalled the events of the previous night.
I could feel the heat rising in my cheeks, and I remembered Kex’s breath against my skin, his fingers tracing patterns across my body, his lips on my mouth, his tongue on my breast. I closed my eyes taking in deep breaths as I began to feel aroused. I wondered what possessed him to come up with the idea of inserting a mirror at the ceiling, and what he had been thinking when he did. Kex was a sex lord, my wolf snared and I chuckled.
I groaned as I stretched, feeling the stiffness in my limbs from the night before. My legs ached as I slowly made my way to the bathroom, wincing as I walked, a reminder of Kex’s handwork. I pushed open the door and turned on the light, shielding my eyes against the sudden brightness.
“Uggh,” I mumbled as I filled my cupped hands with water and splashed it on my face, feeling the coolness against my flushed cheeks. I stood there for a moment, allowing myself a moment of stillness before splashing myself more water. I turned off the faucet and took the nearest towel and wiped my face, staring at myself in the mirror.
As I studied my reflection in the mirror, I realized that I was indeed glowing. I couldn’t believe it. I’d always heard that people looked different after they’d sex with their mate, but I’d never really believed it. Until now. I was glowing.
I ran my fingers over my neck, where I felt a strange tingling sensation. I pulled my hand away, and that’s when I saw it – the unmistakable mark of a mate. My heart leapt in my chest as the reality of what

this meant sank in. I was officially mated. Nelly and Kex are now two souls one heart, I couldn’t help but smile.
I stepped into the shower, letting the hot water wash over me. I closed my eyes and let the steam rise, surrounding me in a warm cocoon. As I stepped out, the mirror fogged over, obscuring my reflection.
I dressed quickly, pulling on a pair of jeans and a simple tank top. My hair was damp, falling in loose waves around my shoulders. I left it to dry naturally, not bothering to brush it out or apply any makeup. My stomach rumbled, reminding me that I hadn’t eaten since the night before.

I picked an apple as I stepped out of my room and headed towards the dining table. I was surprised to see that it was empty. I glanced at the clock – it was eight o clock am, our usual breakfast time. I looked around, but I didn’t see anyone.
The table was set, but there were no plates or silverware. I sat down at the head of the table, the chair creaking under my weight. The silence was deafening, and I felt a sense of unease. I couldn’t help but wonder if everything was okay.
I heard footsteps approaching, and I looked up to see Aurora entering the dining room.
“Good morning, My lady.” She bowed her head in greeting, and I gave her a quick smile. “Good morning,” I mumbled.
She began setting the table with plates and silverware, and I cleared
my
throat.
“Is everything alright, my lady?” she asked. I shook my head.
“No, I’m just wondering where everyone else is.” I took a sip of water, my throat dry. Aurora’s brow furrowed.

“I haven’t seen anyone this morning. They must be busy.”
“Hmmm,” I hummed in response, nodding my head.
Aisha’s absence was hard to believe. She was usually the first one at the table, and I couldn’t imagine
her missing breakfast without a good reason. And Harry was always eager to start the day with a big
meal. The situation seemed strange.
“What about Aisha?” I asked Aurora
“She asked for her breakfast to be brought to her room,” she replied. I nodded, trying to process the
information.

Aisha seemed upset with me, even though it was her fault that she almost ruined my party. Who should
be mad at one, me or her? I rolled my eyes and stuffed a pancake into my mouth, trying to take my mind
off of the situation.
Aurora placed a glass of green liquid in front of me, and I couldn’t help but stare. I had never seen anything like it before.
“I made this special juice for you,” she said, her eyes bright with pride. I looked up at her, my face contorted in confusion. “It’s not what it looks like,” she added, as if reading my mind. I forced a smile, not wanting to hurt her feelings. “Never judge a book by its cover,” she said with a wink.
I took a deep breath and picked up the glass, raising it to my lips.
I took a sip of the drink and was pleasantly surprised by the sweetness. It was unlike any juice I had ever tasted. Aurora watched me with a pleased expression, and I couldn’t help but smile.
“More, please,” I said, and she happily poured me another glass. I took my time savoring the drink, and
when I was finished, I felt a sense of contentment.
I decided to go check on Aisha, hoping to clear the air between us. I wanted to tell her how upset I was with her, but I also wanted to understand why she had been so distant.
I knocked on her door, but there was no response. I tried the door handle, but it was locked. I stood there for what felt like an eternity, but there was still no answer. Defeated, I turned to leave, but I felt a

burning sensation deep within me. I walked towards the garden as I tried to focus my thoughts, to will myself to shift into my wolf form. But nothing happened.
I called out, “Aria,” but my voice was weak and shaky. I closed my eyes, willing my body to obey me, but
it was no use.
What’s wrong with my wolf?

The loud banging on the door jolted me awake, and I groaned as I sat up in bed. My head was throbbing, and my eyes were heavy with sleep. I had barely slept for three hours and now this? Ughhh!
I dragged myself to the door, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes. My hand reached for the doorknob, and I turned it slowly. The door creaked open, and I blinked as the bright sunlight hit my eyes. A figure stood on the other side, silhouetted against the light. I shielded my eyes, trying to make out who it was.
The figure on the other side of the door came into focus, and I was surprised to see that it was Aurora. My initial surprise was replaced by annoyance, and I felt the urge to slam the door in her face.
“What do you want?” I snapped, crossing my arms over my chest.
“I brought your food to your room,” she said, and I noticed the tray of food in her hands. My brow furrowed in confusion.
“Why?” I asked, my gaze piercing. “Like why would Nelly tell you to bring my food to my room?” I asked, my voice growing more impatient.
“My lady doesn’t want to see your face,” she replied, her voice quiet and hesitant.
My jaw clenched, and I felt my face flush with anger. Nelly had never been so angry before, and I couldn’t understand why she would send Aurora to bring my food instead of coming herself. I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself. If I reject this food, I would definitely die of hunger. I need to swallow my pride now.
“Fine,” I said, “I’ll take the food.” I reached out and took the tray from Aurora’s hands, my fingers trembling with frustration.
Aurora bowed and left, and I resisted the urge to roll my eyes. I watched her retreating figure and wondered what Lily had found out about her. She had only gone a few miles when she turned around,

our gaze met and smiled at me, I let out a hiss as I turned and closed the door, leaning my head against it and sighing in frustration.
A few moments passed before I finally moved away from the door and walked to my dressing table. I placed the tray of food on the table and stretched my arms over my head, yawning widely. I felt exhausted, both physically and emotionally.
I looked in the mirror and saw the dark circles under my eyes. I shook my head, the image in the mirror only reinforcing my exhaustion. I trudged to the bathroom and splashed water on my face, hoping it would revive me. After brushing my teeth, I heard a soft knock on the door.
“Come in,” I called out, but the knock came again. I sighed in exasperation and called out more loudly, “Come in!” But there was no response. I rinsed my mouth quickly and went to the door.
I opened the door, but there was no one on the other side. I supposed it
one of the maids who had knocked, but had gotten distracted and left. I went back to my bed and picked up the tray of food, taking a few bites.
The food was delicious, but my appetite was gone. I had hoped that this morning, we would all be able to work through our issues, but it seemed that Nelly was bent on fighting. I felt confused and overwhelmed. I took a sip of water, but started to cough. I swallowed too fast.
The door burst open and I turned, fully expecting to see Nelly. But instead, Harry stood in the doorway, a look of concern on his face.
“Good morning,” he said, his voice gentle. I could only muster a mumbled response. He closed the door behind him and came over to me.
“Are you okay?” he asked, concern etched on his features. I shook my head, unable to speak. My mind was reeling, and I couldn’t make sense of anything. Harry reached out and put his hand on my shoulder.
“What happened?” he asked, ki
csing my forehead.
I looked away from him, not wanting to meet his gaze. He gently took my chin in his hand, forcing me to look at him.

“Is it Nelly?” he asked softly. I nodded, and his brow furrowed in concern. “You both are still fighting?”
he asked, and I shook my head.
“She’s obviously fighting with me, not me fighting with her,” I said, my voice heavy with sadness.
He smiled reassuringly and caressed my cheek. “Just speak to her, even if she’s the one fighting you, okay?” he said, and I nodded in agreement, I wasn’t in the mood to talk or argue.
His lips met mine in a hard, passionate kis*s. I lost myself in the moment, my wolf craving her mate. But then he pulled away, and I let out a frustrated groan.
ves,
“Sorry, babe,” he said, “I have got a lot of work to do today.” I rolled my and he laughed. “Don’t be like that,” he said, winking at me. I smacked him hard on the chest, and he winced.
“Ouch!” he said, standing up as he adjusted his clothes. I gesture for him to come forward and he leaned, I fed him pasta, after three spoons, he raised his hands in the air.
“I need to go,” he said, his mouth filled with food. I gave him a smile and nodded.
“Best of luck dear,” I whispered and we hugged.
I watched as Harry left, and couldn’t help but smile. He was right – I needed to clear the air with Nelly. I changed into a simple gown and tidied up my room, leaving the food on the dresser.
With a deep breath, I made my way to Nelly’s room. My fingers fiddled with my hair, twisting it around my fingers. I took a deep breath, resolving to remain calm, no matter how stubborn Nelly might be. I knocked on her door and waited.
I knocked on Nelly’s door again, but there was no answer. I pushed the door open and peered inside, but she was nowhere to be seen. I knew exactly where she would be, though. I headed in her direction, and from a distance, I spotted her.

Her back was turned to me, her shoulders hunched. I could see her body trembling, and ached. I knew I had to talk to her, even if it would be difficult, I let out a weary sigh.

“Is everything okay?” I asked, but I got no response, instead she pulled me into a secluded corner, her eyes wide and fearful.
“What’s wrong?” I asked, and she let go of my hand and I stretched it. She turned around to check if
anyone was coming, it was at this moment I knew whatever Nelly had to say wasn’t good at all.
“I can’t turn into my wolf,” she said, her voice shaking.
“What?” I exclaimed, my heart pounding.
